Back to School with Urban Lily
by Emelyn.
I had soo much fun putting these layouts together. The new Urban Lily papers are perfect for their bright cheery smiles! I used the patterned papers with words to highlight some feelings about going to school. For Jordan, I wanted him to "Shine" and for Jasmin's first school experience, I wanted her to "Laugh, Learn, and Grow." For the titles, I used the Scrapworks tailored tabs...the bonus...they are double sided!!
In Jordan's layout, the letters are slightly smaller and Jasmin's the letters are bigger. To finish off the layout, I used the new Around the Block Clips...the cutest, most fun embellishment!!

Paper Bag Album
by Peggy

I love making paper bag albums! I think it is my new favorite thing to do. I have made them for baby shower gifts, birthday gifts, teacher gifts, and gifts for my daughters. This month I created a very fun Friends paper bag album for my daughter Amanda for those wallet-sized pictures the kids exchange at school.
Collections like these awesome papers from the Junkitz Salsa line make projects like this come together with ease.

Begin by spraying your lunch sacks thoroughly with an acid-neutralizing spray such as Archival Mist or Krylon’s Make It Acid Free because these sacks are NOT acid free. (I use three lunch sacks to make a ten-page album.)
Lay your lunch sacks on top of each other, alternating the open sides. I used a ruler and marker to make dots at ½”, 1 and ½”, 2 and ½”, 3 and ½”, and 4 and ½” intervals and then used my Ready Set tool with the biggest hole punch to punch holes through all the layers at once.

I cut papers to 4 and ¾” by 5” for my front and back cover. Then cut a strip 2 and ½’ by 5” for the binding. Score this in the middle of the 2 and ½” width at the 1 and ¼” spot.
Wrap around the spine of your book and punch holes to line up with the rest. Tie a variety of ribbons that coordinate with your paper sin the 5 holes and your book is bound.
(Do not tie your ribbons
tightly as you want some give when you start to fill your pages.) I used the Doodlebug rub-ons in pink and orange to make my title on the front as well as a rub-on word from the Making Memories friends set that I happened to have in my stash.
Now the fun part begins! Decorate and embellish the inner pages any way you would like. I used a variety of patterned papers from the Junkitz Salsa line with coordinating Bazzill in white, pink, and range.

I inked the edges with Bazzill Inks. I also use Tailored Tabs and letter tabs from Scrapworks in a coordinating orange, a variety of ribbons, staples, mini brads, and rub-on words and phrases. I added papers in each of the three pockets formed by the open end of the lunch bags for Amanda to add more friend photos, journaling, or notes.

Marker Caddy
by Emelyn
This Marker Caddy was super quick and fun to make! I used the can from the KI alphabet soup, it's only about 3.5 inches tall. I wrapped a piece of new Junkitz paper around it and used Ranger Glossy Accents to secure it. I tied two types of ribbon from Doodlebug around the can then finished it off with a tag and letter sticker, also from Doodlebug. It's such a cute and perfect size for the kids!

Your Photos OUR Way by Peggy and Sonda
We hope you enjoy our new featured section. Each month members of the newsletter team will swap photos and share their creations. This month, Peggy and Sonda scrap Mary's photos their way!

Smoochie by Sonda
These pictures of Mary's kids are so adorable! I just loved the look on her son's face when his sister was squishing it! TOO FUNNY! For my layout I used Bazzill cardstock as the background and Junkitz "Cat Toys" paper cut into strips. For the title I used Basic Grey sticker letters and outlined them with a black pen so they would stand out better. The flower and strip of jean ribbon were added to give the layout some girl and boy flair. Thanks Mary for letting me scrap your photos!

Treasure by Peggy

As soon as I received these photos from Mary they reminded me of this perfect quote I had received in a swap a few years ago. I also immediately went to my stash of Basic Grey papers. I love using the Lollipop Shoppe line when I want to portray a lighthearted or fun mood.
I inked all my paper edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Peeled Paint and added a few rub-on letters from Making Memories, Scrapworks, and Doodlebug fonts, a die cut bookplate, and a couple of Karen Foster Brads. As I normally scrapbook 12 x 12, it was a fun challenge to complete an 8.5 x 11 page.
