Featuring Fancy Pants by Lisa L.

I was inspired by my son’s vivid orange and blue basketball uniform for this layout. As soon as I saw the Fancy Pants Locker Room collection I knew it would work well – and it did. I used three different papers from the collection (Wide Stripe, Stripes and Grey) and put together a quick and easy background. Any number of combinations looked great so there is lots of versatility in this line.
I used one larger picture of my son playing basketball with a smaller one tucked at the side. I added the matching Fancy Pants stickers and was immediately inspired for my title: Play Hard, Play Fair using Doodlebug Designs Party Mix rub-ons). Finally, I finished things up with some rub-on stitches and my son’s name on a handmade tab. I love the look.
The one really nice thing about the Fancy Pants Locker Room collection stickers is that they include some stickers on the more feminine side. I used the gorgeous flower, ribbons & hearts, along with scraps (never toss those away!) to put together a truly inspiring card. I added some orange sorbet ribbon, a brad and decorated my envelope to match.
I have had this metal film tin forever. When I was searching around for something to match my leftover Fancy Pants Locker Room paper, I found the Aches and Breaks stickes from Karen Foster. I knew I had to make a first aid tin to store my bandages and ointments in. It was easy to make. I just cut out some patterned paper for the top and added an assortment of stickers and that was it. Inside the tin, I placed a sticker that says: What’s the Diagnosis? My little guy loves it…. he keeps telling me he needs a bandage!

T-Ball by Jen K.

In this T-Ball layout, I used the new paper and stickers from the Favorite Things Collection line by KI Memories. I layered the brightly colored patterns on coordinating cardstock, and used the matching Varsity ABC cardstock stickers as my title. I just love how all the papers and stickers go so well together, and the bright colors really make the pages pop!

Cheer Memories Mini Book by Jen K.
For the cover of this mini book, I used the leftover KI Memories stickers and paper from the T-Ball layout. I also used scraps on the inside of the book where I will add pictures and journaling that will highlight this year’s cheerleading season, which will be presented to the coach at the end of the year. These mini books are a great way to use up all your extra supplies that usually just wind up in a junk pile, or worse...the garbage bin!

All-Star by Jen K.

For this two-page layout, I used the new Carolees Creations paper line as my base paper, and as my accent mats and tags. These new papers have a nice worn look to them, and the best part is on the back of each sheet, they list other coordinating paper from the line, which takes all the guesswork out of what papers will work best in your layout.
I also used the Athlete Expressionz rub-ons by Junkitz to give the paper a custom look by randomly placing the rub-ons on the bottom half of the page. I also used the rub-ons for my title work. These rub-ons are so easy to use, and you get so many on one sheet. With so many varieties of fonts, sizes and colors, you are sure to get many uses out of just one package .

Soccer
Anyone?
by

I'm always on the lookout for great papers
to use for soccer pages. While not soccer-specific, I have found
that the new bright, colorful lines from Junkitz, Urban Lily,
and My Mind's Eye make great additions to all my outdoor soccer
layouts.
The green in the Urban Lily Upstream line works
really well with the green soccer grass in the Diligence layout.
Here I added some of my favorite Tim Holtz Distress Ink in
Walnut and a chipboard letter. If you're at loss for a title,
turn to your favorite quotation book or website.

The Junkitz Athlete line can be used with a wide
variety of sports pages. Here I used the whole shebang -- Paperz
with Expressionz, Labelz and Matz to create the title collage.
Fortunately, the colors also work well with my son's uniform.
After years observing from the sidelines, my
daughter started playing soccer this Fall. We had so much fun
buying pink soccer shorts, shinpads and cleats and the fun pinks
of this Junkitz line work perfectly for the Soccer Girl layout.
Doodlebug Party Mix rub-ons coordinate really well for a quick
and easy title.

My Mind's Eye
by Emelyn
The new Wild Asparagus and Kaliedoscope paper
lines from My Mind's Eye are amazing! I really LOVE how
everything coordinates and each theme come with titles, matching
papers, die cuts and MORE! The sets help putting a layout
together so quickly and easily. And as a bonus, each sheet is
double sided, so you have a matching solid piece on the other
side.
This is perfect for matting like I did with the
Freestyle Swimming layout. I also added ribbons from Doodlebug
and a piece from the Wild Asparagus Adventure set. To finish the
layout, I placed the "Water" transparency that I've been
hoarding forever and it just seemed perfect for this layout!
These papers also worked really well for my
Little League Adventure layout. I highly recommend these new
lines!

Fancy
Pants & Junkitz
by Peggy S.
This layout was so easy to put together
using the fancy pants locker room papers and
embellishments and a few rub on words
This layout was very fun to do using the Junkitz
collection of papers and embellishment. Layout
design was based on a combination of a sketch from
Simple Scrapbooks simple schemes idea book and the
Becky Higgins sketch book

I think that one of the hardest things about scrapping sports photos is finding the right paper. Sure, there are a few lines out there in the sports theme, but what if the colors of don't match the colors of your team? I really thought outside the box with The Pitcher.
The baseball photos of my nephew featured a lot of red, green, and brown and I just wasn't finding papers that worked for me… until I remembered the Doodlebug Christmas line of last year. By cutting the paper in strategic places I was able to hide all the circles that read Merry Christmas. I distressed the papers with the Tim Holtz Distress Walnut Ink, because I don't think I've ever seen my nephew come home from a game with a clean uniform. I used the same Walnut Ink to stamp my title and then matted by 5 x 7 photo. I also used a wallet size photo for a bit of contrast to the large 5 x 7.

Giddy Up by Laura B.
How lucky for me that the new Carolee's line including this "Howdy Words" paper came out the same week my daughter was invited to a horse riding birthday party! I used the patterned paper as a backdrop and the red distressed paper to mat the feature photo. The title is carefully cut from a section of the background paper that's hidden behind a photo. I added some Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Walnut and... voila! an easy layout with no "horsin' around."

Your Photos OUR Way by Emelyn and Mary
We hope you enjoy our new featured section. Each month members of the newsletter team will swap photos and share their creations. This month, Emelyn and Mary scrap Peggy's photos their way!

Head to Head Fun by Emelyn
I had a blast working with Peggy's pictures! Since this was at a fair, I knew I wanted something bright and happy! I used the Doodlebug Bright collection to showcase their fun sunny day! The letter stickers from the previous Doodlebug collection matches perfectly and the ribbon adds a soft touch. To contrast the softness of the ribbon, I added photo anchors as accents and finished the layout with a clip from Around the Block. Thanks for the great pictures Peggy!

Carnival Fun by Mary

As an 8 1/2 x 11 scrapper who had an opportunity to scrap in the 12 x 12 size, I was a bit lost until I picked up the new Becky Higgins Creative Sketches for Scrapbooking 2. I found a sketch that I liked and got to work. With the sketches again categorized by quantity of photos, I was easily able to find a sketch that fit the number of photos I planned to use. Peggy said that the photo of her husband and two of her kids going head to head was her favorite, so I blew it up to 8 x 10.
I wanted bright and happy colors to mimic the fun of a carnival and the new Rob and Bob paper was exactly what I was looking for. I hand cut the letters for the title and added some ribbon to the journaling box and the title for a bit of fun. I just hope Peggy likes the final page as much as I did!
