Happy May!! I hope this newsletter
finds you all well and enjoying the beautiful weather. I have been a bit
busy here as well with planting, school activities, etc. and because of
family commitments we did not have a NSD sale. But, we are having one
now.. Not only is May the month of NSD, it is also our 7 year anniversary
online. So we are having an "after NSD sale/anniversary sale".
Also, the images below are even and
look good on my monitor. Every monitor and settings are different for
everyone so my apologies if these images are "weird", I have no way of
knowing how they will look to others and just hope they are all correctly
sized as you are viewing them.

Each month our newsletter team tries out some of the most popular products from the Tomorrow's Memories store. This month Lisa, Mary,
Emelyn and Peggy
share their "About Me" projects with us. |
About Me & WeR Memory Keepers by Lisa L.

Wow was I in a resourceful
mood this month. I was sitting at my desk staring at the We R
Memory Keepers packaging and thinking what a shame it was to
toss it away! Next thing you know, I'm using it for an altered
frame. It was perfect. I used pop dots to make my items stand
out in the bubble windows.
Some ribbons at the top and I have a beautiful framed "About Me"
project to hang in my studio. So remember to think outside the
box.....actually to think about altering the box!!!
With leftovers,
I made a beautiful card, a little handmade booklet about my
favourite things and a journal. Cute, quick and easy. And a
neat tip for the journal - rather than using tabs to section off
parts, I cut out
flowers from the Hippo Flower Power paper and made them into my
tabs.

About Me & 3 Bugs in a Rug by Peggy S.

I
have to admit when told this month's topic
was "All About Me" I almost decided to bow out. I hardly
ever scrap about myself and have gotten pretty good at
making sure I am behind the camera rather than in front of
it :-) Then I got to looking around in the new section of
the store and fell in love with the 3 Bugs in a Rug line.
I chose papers and cardstock stickers from the Spicy
line for my layout this month. I fell in love with the
colors and bold patterns found in these papers. I cut
letters from the Gusto paper to form my "Create" title, and
layered Cajun, Stripes, and Seasoned papers for my
background, adding some of the Chit chat cardstock stickers
and flowers trimmed from the Seasoned paper.
Still no photos of me but I did do quite a bit of
journaling (hidden behind the large flowered paper) about
how amazed I am at where this scrapbooking bug has taken me.
From when a friend dragged me kicking and screaming (and
positive I was not artistic enough to do this) to the local
scrapbook store 8 years ago to where I am now.........
designing for a monthly newsletter and a monthly scrapbook
kit company as well as teaching scrapping to others and
getting paid to do scrapbooks for others. I love what I do
for my family and for others.

About
Me & WeR Memory Keepers by
Emelyn M.
"EM"
I'm really lucky I married a guy whose last name started
with "M", as in Magpoc! It justifies my nickname as EM, not
only from "Emelyn", but also from "E(melyn) M(agpoc)"!
LOL! Anyway....this month's theme was "All About Me." As I
was searching for product to use from the store, the new We
R Memory Keepers papers and tags were just perfect!! I LOVE
the new Hippo Line! The bright colorful papers just scream
out CHEERFUL! And that is how I like to see life, being
cheerful and happy. The matching tag was just what I needed
to finish up my page as an accent describing My Favorite
Things. I also used Karen Foster's Loopy brads tied with
Doodlebug ribbons to bring focus to the picture and finished
up the page with accents around the jounaling.

About Me & Scenic Route by Mary H.

My Book of
Me wouldn't be complete without a page about those in my
life that I love. In keeping with the bright, happy theme I
chose to use Scenic Route's Brighton line.
I
paired a chipboard letter with one of the embellishments
from Brighton Love Chipboard Embellishments for my title.
Sanding the edges added a little something extra. Next, I
used Brighton Snowdrift
to matte my
photo and as the centers of the flowers on each of my
journaling strips. After adding the pink photo corners from
the Brighton Love Chipboard Embellishments, my photo was
ready to be mounted on the Brighton Pink & Green Dots, and
Brighton Swiss Alps papers, which I used with Bazzill
cardstock for my background.
On each journaling strip,
I listed someone that I love and what I love about them.
The flowers with the colorful centers add to the journaling
strips, without taking the focus off of my heartfelt
journaling. After dating the back, my layout was complete.
When I first got this
line of paper, my first thought was to use it for pictures
of my daughter in her pink coat. Since we haven't had much
snow since I got the paper, there were now cute sledding
pictures of my daughter. Then I thought I'd use it for a
layout about DH and I on Valentine's Day. But the Steelers
Championship attire we had on for Valentine's Day didn't
quite seem to fit with the pretty paper. When I got the
idea to do a layout about those that I love, the Scenic
Route Brighton line jumped out at me.
It was perfect! I could
use the cool love-themed chipboard and "happy" patterned
papers that didn't go with the black and gold! And then I
realized, that part of what makes this line so much fun is
that it can be used for so many different themes.

Your Photo's "Our Way"
This month Lisa and Emelyn
created layouts using Laura's pictures.
This is from Lisa L.:

And From Emelyn:

"New Baby Boy"
It's been a few years since I last scrapped baby boy pages
so it was really fun creating this one for Laura! I wanted
to highlight his cute face with his lips say "ooh", so I
cropped it really close and altered the photo to black and
white. This looked great against the blues and greens of
the new Scenic Route papers! Then I used the Creative
Imaginations rubons, the blacks went well with the black and
white photo and made a great title that stood out. I
finished up with embellishments from Tim Holtz, Scrapworks
Tabs, Making Memories stars, and ribbons. I hope you like
it Laura!
