Family Playtime
Journaling: There is nothing better than a family
playtime...a dinner out,
a movie or a long walk. The laughter, silliness and fun are a
great
reminder of the joy of family.

I cut flowers out as accents. The journaling is hidden
beneath the main picture. I cut the swirl out from the patterned paper and
used it to transfer sewing holes to the layout. Try this with any
pattern that you have. Once the guideline holes are there -- you can simply
backstitch.
Cards - I used the scraps to do a variety of end of year

Family Time-Carnival by Peggy S.

I absolutely love the fun colors and patterns in the Junkitz
papers. I knew they would be perfect for this month's theme
of family time. The layout design is inspired by a sketch in
the second Becky Higgins sketch book. I loved the layers and
pockets they create to fit lots of photos, fun papers, and
hidden journaling. I added some colorful ric rac, spiral
clips, alphabet brads, and ribbons from my stash to
compliment the flowerd, striped, cirlce and polka dot papers
from the Brightz collection. Hidden journalign tells how
carnivals are pretty much an everyday activity in the summer
where we live. There is about one a month but the photos
from this one are from the carnival associated with the
Rodeo that happens here every year. It also tells how this
one is usually the family favorite because it is almost
always the biggest and the only one that has bumper cars but
also the saddest because it happens in September and is the
last carnival until next summer.

Time-Siblings & Silly by

Everyday Siblings
Just a couple of pictures of Jordan and Jasmin NOT
trying to kill each other one Saturday...LOL! They
loving being in PJ's and will stay in them until we head
out the door. The new BasicGrey papers went perfectly
with their pink and blue PJ's. I also used the new
Doodlbug Accents--Flowers and Cute Clips that matched
the papers to a T! I used a sketch by Melanie Lawinger
from ScrapAddict.

Silly
This is Jasmin's camera face now. She loves to make
silly faces, making it harder to take a good
picture...LOL! Oh well, she is still a cutie! I
love the 3 Bugs in a Rug Groovy paper and
stickers! The colors make it easy to match many
pictures and the patterns are fun! I also used the
new Doodlebug Jellishments and letter stickers!
Typical
Day by Sonda T.

Something my daughter and I do
almost everyday is go to school. She loves it there and
I enjoy helping her in the classroom. On this typical
day we were working on spelling words. I used the SPICE
PAPER LINE from 3 Bugs in a Rug for the background and
then added bits of this and that. Pretty simple but I
still like it. I hope you'll capture some everyday
moments on film and then scrap a layout about them.

Crate Papers by

I'm sure we've all done
it. There's that paper line. You know, the one
everyone's raving over. So you buy it. A lot of
it. And then you look at it and realize that you
have no idea what you're going to do with it. That
was me with the Crate Paper. I loved it. It was
pretty and distressed and muted. And in a
completely different style than I scrap. I scrap
bright colors. I scrap two little kids. I don't
scrap pretty, distressed, muted paper. Now I
figured I had two choices. I could either add it to
my "stash" and probably never use it or I could do
something with it right now.
I decided to do
something with it. It just happened that I'd just
gotten an envelope of pictures. Those everyday
pictures that I take of things like tubby-time and
the kids playing in the yard. So first I did the
bathtime layout. The paper was so perfect for
bathtime photos and it came together so easily. I
used Bazzill Cardstock with
New Garden-Wheel Barrow
and
New Garden-Flower Patch. I cut them into strips
and then inked the edges. I then used the
New Garden-Fresh Cut and made photo corners to
frame the photo. I added my title and this page was
complete. I was inspired.
So I moved on to the
Kate line. I used a small photo album from the
dollar store and covered it with
Kate-Twig and layered pieces of
Kate-Pomegrante and
Kate-Ribbon
for my cover. Then I put a photo on one side of the
layout and some layered papers on the other side.
I
added either a scripture verse or a favorite
inspirational quote to each page and I had my very
own "cheer me up" album. I got a bunch of photos in
an album and used paper that was intimidating me.
I found both the New
Garden and Kate lines very easy to use. Now I want
the other three lines, Taylor, Hampton, and
Seaweed....
