Each month our newsletter team tries out some of the most popular new products from the Tomorrow's Memories store. This month Emelyn, Mary, Peggy S. and Sonda share some ideas for patriotic pages and other projects using the Pebbles, Etc. Americana line.

Celebrating the USA by Mary H.

Here in the USA we take our summer holidays seriously.  We enjoy an opportunity to reflect on our country and those who make sacrifices for it. The Americana line of paper from Pebbles, Etc. is perfect for scrapping memories from the summer holiday celebrations. The photo in Celebrating the USA is nearly three years old. I had it enlarged to a 5 x 7 at the time I had it developed, but never found paper that I felt did the photo justice. The Pebbles line was just what the photo needed!

The cardstock stickers offered many options for a title. I really liked the way I could cut the paper to choose certain words to stand out, like I did with "United We Stand", "U.S.A." and " America". The paper allows the photo to take center stage on this layout where our patriotism is evident.

For my layout called “the 4th,” I again chose to cut the paper to highlight specific words ("land of the free", "4th of july", "pride", and " God bless the US"). I pieced the paper together to make a border around the edge of the paper and then after placing my photos touching on the page, I added the "the 4th" sticker for my title. There are so many stickers on one sticker sheet that I had plenty of options for my title and plenty left over for future layouts or cards.

I used a sticker for the "let freedom ring" card as well. Strips of cardstock made a simple background and the sticker placed over the strips makes the card perfect to send to a friend in Iraq.

The Pebbles, Etc. Americana line really celebrates the United States. Words such as “democracy,” “family,” “my country ‘tis of thee,” and “united we stand” cover this paper. These are words that we're proud to associate with the USA and this paper will work great for scrapbooking your patriotic memories.

Patriotic Family by Emelyn

The papers from Pebbles were so fun to work with and the matching stickers made great accents. For our family pictures, I used a strip of patterned paper for the border, but used lots of the cardstock stickers as a frame around the picture. I did have to trim of little pieces of sticker to make it fit perfectly around the picture.

For "Jasmin's First Fourth" I created a simple colorblocked layout with pictures and patterned paper. The light blue cardstock for the matting of the pictures is actually the back side of the patterned paper, giving a perfect match!

I used Distress Ink in Fired Brick to highlight the edges of the papers. I also used Doodlebug letter stickers for the title.  The red letter stickers are actually inked with the Fired Brick Distress Ink and I used a black pen to trace the letters.

Patriotic Party Decoration by Emelyn

I wanted to create something special this year for our annual Fourth of July party. I painted a box I had laying around with blue paint. After it was dry, I adhered Pebbles patterned paper over it.  I then used stickers as accents and tied ribbons along the edges. It was super fast and fun to make.  It also created a special piece of decoration for our party table.

The 4th of July by Sonda

I love this picture of my daughter as the glow of the fireworks just light her up! By using just a few pieces of Bazzill cardstock, some patterned paper, cardstock stickers by Pebbles, Etc. and a few embellishments, this layout came together very quickly. Some stitching around the edges finished it off.

Challenge yourself by grabbing just a few supplies and see what you can create!

Pebbles Patriotic Line by Peggy S.

The patriotic line from Pebbles, Inc. makes scrapbooking these photos almost too easy! I used red Bazzill as my background and added a border torn from the Pebbles, Inc. paper across the bottom (after inking the torn edge with Bazzinks red ink). I also tore and inked my photo mats.

I added some coordinating Americana cardstock stickers from the same line, and some market fresh tags embellished with alphabet stamps and Queen & Company patriotic brads. White Doodlebug rub-ons made an easy and perfect title, Dalton.

From my scraps I was also able to complete this card and an altered CD.

Pillow Mini Album by Sonda

What you will need:

Quilted fabric (or fabric and batting)
Chipboard (5x5")
Bazzill cardstock (5.5x5.5)
Pebbles, Etc. Pattern paper (5.5x5.5)
Pebbles, Etc. cardstock stickers
Adhesive
1/4" hole punch
Large eyelets
Mini rings
Ribbon

Instructions:

1. Cut two squares of fabric slightly larger than the chipboard (approx. 6x6) and sew around edges of chipboard so it's inside tightly.

Trim as needed and fray all edges of fabric. (The covers don't have to be sewn...they can be stapled around the chipboard, or safety pinned, or hand stitched...)

2. Repeat process for back cover.  Embellish covers as desired.

3. Set three large eyelets on
one side (this becomes the binding).

4. Cut cardstock and pattern papers to 5.5x5.5"  Center pages inside covers to mark holes for the eyelets and punch. The pages should fit nicely inside the covers.

5. Add photos, pattern paper and cardstock stickers to pages.

6. Add tabs to pages, if desired.

7. Attach rings to covers and pages.  Tie ribbons on rings for a finished look.
