Daisy D's Christmas Line
by Lisa L.

Daisy D's Christmas Line has a classic feel
reminiscent of my childhood Christmases. I decided to use the line to do a Christmas Movie Night gift tin. I went to my local hardware store and picked up a new paint tin for just a few dollars. Using the Christmas papers, accessories and library pockets from this line, I decorated my tin using Making Memories metal glue.

The "Admit One" tickets that came with the line worked perfectly. I tied to the handle some red twill, blue and green and green and red polka dot ribbon. I cut out a circle of paper for the lid and used rubons to spell "For You" from the KI Memories Tatoos line. Two little tags that say "Santa" and "gift" are attached with a blue safety pin to the ribbons.

But I didn't stop there. I had lots of little scraps left that were crying out to be used. The library pocket and library card made a great gift card for inside the tin.
On the card, I listed everything that was in the tin: 1 gift certificate to a movie store, 2 types of candies, 1 bag of popcorn and
2 hot cocoa packages.
Then I used a decorated a cd case with scraps of paper and the photo slide mount that came with the set and put "Peek" on
it. I added a Christmas tree button from my "stash" and blue ribbon. The gift certificate was placed inside the case. Not only is the tin fun, I'm certain the night will be too.

I was inspired to create this Christmas Joy
Jar with scraps leftover from
the Daisy D Christmas papers. I picked up a little glass mason
jar at the
dollar store. I took a strip of paper and rounded it into a
tube shape
and popped it inside the jar. It unfolded itself and lined the
jar so that
the pattern could be seen on the outside. I added red twill and a little red tag. Then I thought up 12 Christmas activities that were in the true spirit
of the season. For example: making a gift for someone, donating to a charity, watching a Christmas movie as a family, etc. I typed the activities out and mounted them to scraps of coordinating paper. The tags are inside the jar. Beginning December, I'm going to allow my boys to
pick
one every couple of days.

This project goes one step further. I made up a 12x12 layout. As each
tag is drawn and completed, the tag goes into the pocket of my layout. I am also going to journal and add pictures of our activities. And the red twill and jar tag will become the title of the layout. Altered item to
meaningful activities to a beautiful 12x12 memory layout.
The Christmas Envelope Book Kit from Daisy D
is so much fun to put together. I formed each envelope and bound
them into a book. I added rubons to all of the little envelope
tags. Each tag has a saying like "Love one another" and a
coordinating picture on the back. I added some coordinating
index tags
and letters. I made a side closure using red cording and a
button hole snap. The ornament will be hung by the ribbon at
the top. I also pinned 4 little mini tags to the ribbon with a
teeny safety pin and adorned the front with a "Believe" Tag and
bright red candy brad. I cannot wait to hang this on the
Christmas tree and have my family and friends take a peek when
they visit. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!

These new Basic Grey Blitzen papers are so pretty and
classic for Christmas pages. I used them
for both a formal family layout and a fun layout for the
kids. As a bonus, the new Daisy D die
cut letters matched wonderfully with the paper! I also used
the Wild Asparagus ribbon from their
Christmas line. I added Around the Block soft charms, Lil'
Davis chipboard letters, and Making
Memories embellishments to finish off my layouts.

This Christmas I plan making gifts for my special friends. I
used (2) 6x6 Canvas Concepts
canvases for the covers of the Book of Quotes. I used black
cardstock to form the accordian pages
and decorated the layouts with Basic Grey Blitzen papers. I
typed out the quotes and used various
Making Memories embellishments for my accents.

WOW!...I can't say enough nice things
about the Karen Foster Christmas line. The colors are
fabulous, and the products are so versatile you can use them
for anything from vintage photos, to contemporary photos.
In my Merry Christmas layout I was going for a more country
Christmas look, and the Karen Foster Line worked perfectly.
In this layout, I used the Vintage Christmas paper as my
background, evergreen, cranberry, and black Bazzill as
accent colors, KF Merry Christmas cardstock stickers, misc
cranberry gingham ribbon, and my new favorite KF Merry
Christmas Rub ons. These rubons are so easy to use, and the
variety you get in one pack really makes for a great value.

Using the same Karen Foster line
products, I used the new Daisy D's
Vintage Christmas
Evergreen patterned paper as the background for my
Christmas
2004 layout. I always try to create a layout using my sons
Christmas picture as the opening page for that seasons
pictures, and these products really helped in showcasing the
yearly picture.
In my Home for the Holidays layout, I
used the new All My Memories Christmas line. I used the
double sided Deck the Halls paper as the background, and
tore the paper just to break up the page a bit. The Deck
the Halls Herb Notes cardstock stickers were great accents
for the page. The Christmas wreath on the page is a
handmade quilled piece. (not by me...LOL)

In my very first vintage layout,
Christmas 1951, I made a very simple and quick layout using
the new Daisy D's Vintage Christmas card paper to accent
these old photos of my mother opening gifts on her fourth
Christmas. I used some red ribbon to give the page the
effect of a Christmas present just waiting to be opened, and
accented it with a small gift tag, and a cute brass tree
charm.
As we all get ready for the upcoming
Holidays, I just want to take a min to wish you and your
families all a safe, happy Holiday Season and a prosperous
New Year. And I want to thank Kelly for letting me be a part
of this great newsletter for the last few years, Its a
real honor to be able to work with all the talented design
team members. Keep the great layouts coming!

I love just about anything from the Daisy d’s
collections and the Christmas line is no exception.
I knew as soon as I saw these papers that I wanted
to use them for my Christmas card photo shoot layout
this year. The colors are rich and just right for
our holiday hats and blue jeans. I used a sketch
from my already well worn second edition sketch book
and this came together almost effortlessly. I even
had enough scraps left over to make 2 Christmas
cards.
For the Merry Christmas card I used the
snowman print paper. I added some prisma glitter and
buttons for a quick and easy card. For the Christmas
lights card I
stamped and heat embossed light bulbs
on vellum and then colored them in from behind with
twinkling H2O’s. The friends I was cropping with the
night I made this loved it so much that I had to
share my remaining stash with them

Blocks
by Mary H.
Christmas Photo Blocks with BasicGrey Blitzen - Every
once-in-a-while, a paper line comes along that just inspires me
to do something wonderful with it. Something special that will
be seen daily instead of being stuck in an album. The BasicGrey
Blitzen line did this for me. After seeing the photo blocks
done by Donna Downey in her Photo Decor book. I knew I wanted to
do something similar. My husband, a carpenter, screwed and
glued scraps of 2 x 4's together to make me 4" blocks. I used
Mod Podge to adhere the paper to the blocks and then took some
of my favorite photos of the past five Christmases and converted
them to black and white. I used some Making Memories Charmed
Frames, Charmed Shapes, Eyelet Words, and Metal Words that I've
had for two years to embellish the blocks. I'd thought this was
going to be a huge project but it was actually very simple and
took only about two hours from start to finish. I left some of
the sides blank so that I could add pictures of Christmas this
year. I can see doing many more of these blocks in themes for
each season.

Princess for a day
by Sonda
Karen Foster makes such wonderful coordinating products!
For my layout I used some of the princess line with
Em's photos of her daughter. She is so cute! My favorite
is the one of her close up so I printed it very large (5x7)
and made it my focal photo. I tried matching up the pink of
her outfit by using some loopy brads and threading
ribbon thru some alpha beads. I used rubons for the
title and quote as well. When all the pieces of a layout
are coordinated it makes scrapbooking so much easier.
Beauty by
Mary H.
Beauty - My favorite
paper line ever was the Beautiful line by KI Memories and so I
was ecstatic when I saw that they had added to this collection.
And what better a line to use for a layout about a cutie like
Emelyn's daughter. Big letters are in and the best thing about
using large letters is that the title becomes an embellishment.
I was surprised to see the size of the
Beautiful Mega Alpha DieCuts that I used for my title. They
are much bigger than the die cut letters I'd purchased from
other KI Memories collections. The
Beautiful Geo Floral Frosty Pattern is a gorgeous paper with
bright colors and a nice big pattern. I used this with
Beautiful Just Sew for the larger squares in the
background. I cut 1" strips of Beautiful
Disco Fever and
Beautiful Funky Stripe to add some additional fun and color
to this layout. I again found that using a coordinated line
from one manufacturer makes scrapbooking easy and gives very
professional looking results.
