Emelyn:

I LOVE KI Memories!!

I sooo love the new line from KI Memories!! The designs on the patterned papers are so yummy! The retro feel of the curved lines make any layouts fun and exciting! Also new are the die cut sheets. These are AWESOME! They are so versatile and could be used for journaling or put a date or decorative accents! The colors also match their existing line. I combined the new line with the previous Icicle letters. It matched perfectly! Because everything coordinates, it's a snap to put layouts together. During the summer, there is so many memories to capture, quick layouts are essential...and KI Memories are a great product to help with that!

Fishing with Karen Foster

In this layout, I used the new Karen Foster fishing line. The fish paper was the perfect background for the fishing transparency. I chalked the edges of the paper to make it just a bit darker, so that the transparency would show up a little better. I really love using these new transparencies! They take a plain lonely photo and just make it pop, without detracting from the picture.
On the 2nd page of the layout, I used the coordinating cardstock stickers to accent a few pictures, and used Bazzill browns as the mounting and background paper. Using Adobe Photoshop, I changed my color pictures into Sepia, so they match perfectly with the Karen Foster line.

At the Beach

I really liked the simplicity of the beach overlay, but then I went a little over board with my spray adhesive, and turned the clear transparency into a "frosted glass" transparency. The detail is lost in the scan, but it looks much better in person! The excess adhesive could be used purposefully to add a soft focus underneath transparent overlays.
On the 2nd page of the layout, I again kept it very simple, and only journaled with Heidi Small White Making Memories Simply Stated rub ons with Bazzill Blues for the background and mounting. I picked up the handmade brown paper on a recent field trips to paper stores in New York City.

Bundle of Joy

In this layout, I used Bo-Bunny Press "little girl kisses" cardstock stickers and the coordinating printed flower paper. I tore the paper and adhered it to Bazzill Pink for the corners and the border. I then used it to accent the photo mounts. I used the Vellum Quote Stacks from the Baby & Childhood collection for the bundle of joy title. I like the bright colors from these products, as they are not your typically pastel baby colors. However they can be easily adapted to use with pastels if you wanted to, such as overlaying the printed paper with vellum to lighten the look

Chatterbox

The chatterbox line has quickly become my new scrapping staple!  Their line of coordinating papers in different color themes is beautiful and useable for almost any type of photos.  In my layout "Jack" I showcased a favorite baby picture by enlarging it and then using the soft colors of the Cottage room papers to compliment the photo.  I inked up the edges of the paper and crumpled it around my photo for texture.  Because the chatterbox papers are double sided there are so many options for matching up papers within a product line.  I simply paired up 3 choices for my layout.

In the layout "Daddy & Alex" I chose papers from the Den line.  The multi color prints in the chatterbox line make the papers easy to use for casual around the house pictures. I chose the den line to work with the blue of my son's shortalls and then found how the gray of his t shirt and the green of my husbands shirt were also complemented by the papers as well.  Again, the layout was very easy to put together by simply pairing up two different prints within the den line.

My last chatterbox layout - "Meeting Jack" shows how much of a basic staple the paper can be in a layout with somewhat busy photos.  With all the different people, colors of clothes, and just background "stuff" in these photos, it was a challenge to figure out a color scheme.  I wanted to have the layout be "boy", but traditional pastel colors would have looked so pale compared to the dark colors everyone was wearing.  The billiard room was the perfect answer for my page.  Using the blue background with a subtle pattern and just small amounts of the plaid helped tie the pictures to the paper.

Narratives

The Narratives line features cool transparency negatives that can be used to frame up your photos or as an accent on your page.  In the layout "Baby Henry" I used the largest size negative strip and framed a photo with it.  I then chose the coordinating smallest size negative strip to create a border of tiny versions of the same photo turned to black and white.  I cut one of the smallest size negatives from the strip to attach offset to my focal point photo.

In the layout "Photos for Fathers Day Gifts" I used the medium black negative strip vertically to frame individual pictures as an accent to the focal point group photos.  The negative strips are very easy to use - they include a guide for trimming your photos to the right size and they have guides on them for placement of the photos as well.

Art Warehouse

The Art Warehouse line is very modern and cool looking.  The line includes papers, stickers, epoxy stickers and rub ons.  In the layout "Moments Like This" I utilized one of the stickers to use both as an accent and my title for my page.  The stickers have a clear background on them so they can blend in to the background anywhere, and each sheet has a number of different words or phrases, making them a great value - one sheet can be used on a number of different layouts or projects.
